How to Fold Your Screen House

Designed to keep bugs out and fresh air flowing, the East Oak screen house offers a peaceful backyard retreat. While its pop-up design makes setup effortless, folding it down takes a bit of practice. This guide will help you fold your bug-free mesh pod properly, so it stays in top shape and is ready for your next relaxing day outdoors.

Step-by-Step Folding Guide

Step 1 | Zip, Flatten, and Align

Close all zippered mesh doors to help the frame hold its shape. Lay the screen house flat on an open surface like a patio or lawn. Gently shake it to release any built-up tension and flatten all sides of the structure, including the mesh walls.

Tip: This bug-free mesh pod is designed for ventilation—keep mesh panels smooth to avoid bending the frame.

Step 2 | Fold the Top Panel Inward

Press the top of the pop-up frame downward, stopping when it meets the middle mesh area. This will naturally begin to shape the screen house into a flat, foldable form.

Note: Lightly step on the center spot as shown in the video to hold the frame steady during folding.

Step 3 | Collapse the Front Section

Push down the front side of the frame—labeled “Point A” in the video—until it curves toward the ground. You'll see the left and right sections begin to rise with some tension, which is part of the fold’s natural arc. Leave a few inches of space to prevent over-compression.

Tip: Folding slightly off-center (as demonstrated in the video) helps preserve the mesh pod's form.

Step 4 | Fold the Sides Inward

Fold the left and right frame sections inward (marked as “Points B and C” in the video). Bring both sides together, then push the center (Point A) in to form a circular fold. Don’t worry if the edges don’t align perfectly—just keep the mesh walls tucked inside as you go.

Tip: Stabilize Point A with your foot and use one hand to fold Points B and C toward the middle. Follow the video closely for a smoother result.

Step 5 | Secure and Pack Away

Use the included elastic band to hold your folded screen house tightly together. Then place it back into the storage bag. Make sure the mesh panels are smooth and not caught at the edges.

Reminder: This backyard screen shelter is not intended for tailgate use—store it flat and dry for long-term durability.
